Rick Beerhorst is a 60 year old father of 6; a full time painter and musician living in Paris France. Beerhorst grew up singing in church and rambling in the back woods of Michigan with a pocket knife and a sketchbook. When asked where these songs come from his reply was: “When I sit down to write a new song on my old Gibson J45 I just call up the ghosts of holy trinity; Lou Reed, Johnny Cash and Lenard Cohen and they never let me down.”

Beerhorst songs are as raw as they are hauntingly beautiful. They come straight out of the heart of a man who has somehow found a way to take off all the blinders and is is now seeing the whole world for the very first time. When you listen to his music you have the feeling that you have just stumbled into a world where everything (including you) has been touched with the mystical golden light of our favorite fairytales
